About

Greetings and welcome!

I’m Stacey — wife and buddy to Justin, mama to tiny overlords Asher, 4, and Finn, 2. I’m a stay-at-home-working mom with a creative studio (fancy LinkedIn speak for a Mac upstairs in the spare bedroom).

I’m a coffee fiend, a used-bookstore wanderer, a Photoshop geek, a cook with a disaster of a kitchen, a musician with rusty fingers.

I love good words — some of my favorites are by Frederick Buechner, Anne Lamott, Thomas Merton, JRR Tolkien and Galway Kinnell.

If you stop by now and again, you’ll see posts about the following:

gratitude: the sometimes-reluctant kind

children updates: the infatuated kind

love: the quirky, imperfect, growing kind

medical challenges: the children-with-special-needs kind

frustrations: the mommy wars kind

faith: the messy, question-asking, outsider-loving, not-going-to-church-but-desperately-wanting-a-community kind

My plate is full these days but when I steal time away, writing here (since 2004?! how is that possible?!) has been a continuous source of comfort and, surprisingly, what feels an awful lot like community.

I’m so glad you stopped by and hope you’ll be back.
